First Test: India beat Sri Lanka by an innings and 222 runs

India declared their first innings at 574 runs for 8 wickets. India bowled out Sri Lanka for 174 runs in the first innings and bowled them out for 178 runs in the second innings to win the match by an innings. Sri Lanka lost 16 of their wickets in the third day’s play.

Jadeja took 5 wickets for 41 runs in the first innings and 4 wickets for 46 runs in the second innings. Jadeja scored 175 not out in India’s first innings. Jadeja received the player of the match award for this excellent performance.

Jadeja took 5 wickets in 13 overs while Bumrah and Ashwin got 2, 2 wickets and Sami got one wicket.
