Education at BS and Intermediate levels in around 320 colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will now be free. The provincial government will collect the fees of students studying in 42 commerce and 275 general colleges from the government exchequer.
During the press briefing after the cabinet meeting, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Higher Education Kamran Bangash said that the fees collected from all the students studying in various colleges of the province will be returned through Bank of Khyber.
According to Kamran Bangash, one billion and 5 crores will be spent on education card this year.
The provincial minister said that after the health and farmer card, the education card was also formally issued.
This year Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had announced the issue of education card in the budget, money was also allocated for education card.
After that, a summary regarding education card was also approved, but the education card was limited to announcement for five months after the budget was presented.
However, in the 83rd meeting of the provincial cabinet, formal approval was given for the issuance of education card, the implementation of which will start very soon.
