IPL 2022: Gujarat Titans beat Rajasthan Royals to become champions


Ahmedabad, May 30 (SO News / Agency) Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets in the final match of IPL 2022 played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Rajasthan had given Gujarat a target of 131 runs which Gujarat easily achieved. There, captain Hardik Pandya was named ‘Man of the Match’ for his outstanding performance in bowling and batting.

Chasing a target of 131 runs, Gujarat Titans started with the opening pair of Wriddhiman Saha and Shibman Gill and Rajasthan’s bowling was spearheaded by Trent Boult who conceded just 5 runs in his first over. In the final match, Gujarat did not live up to the expectations that Saha had and Prashad Krishna clean bowled Saha on the fourth ball of his over. Matthew Wade then came to the crease and led the innings with Gill. However, Wade (8) too could not stay at the crease for long and the bowler was caught out by Ryan Parag in Trent Boult’s over.

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill played an unbeaten innings of 45 runs off 43 balls with the help of one six and three fours. Along with this, Miller also played an important role in the team, he scored 32 runs in 19 balls with the help of a six and three fours. Gujarat scored 133 runs for the loss of three wickets with 11 balls remaining.
