Kolkata, May 25 (SO News/Agencies) David Miller popularly known as ‘Killer Miller’ (68 not out) hit three sixes off the first three balls of the last over to help Gujarat Titans win by seven wickets against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday. and made it to the finals of the 2022 IPL.
Rajasthan posted a strong score of 188 for six in the qualifier thanks to a brilliant 89 from in-form England batsman Jos Buttler, but Gujarat posted 191 for three in 19.3 overs to reach the final. Miller hit three fours and five towering sixes in a smoky unbeaten 68 off 38 balls.
Earlier, in-form Jos Buttler’s brilliant innings of 89 helped Rajasthan Royals post 188 for six against Gujarat Titans in the first qualifier of the IPL on Tuesday.
Batting first after losing the toss, Buttler hit 12 fours and two sixes in a 56-ball innings. Buttler got out on the fifth ball of the last over of the innings. With this innings, he has completed 700 runs in the tournament and his number of runs has reached 718. Captain Sanju Samson scored 47 runs in 26 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes. Devdut Padikal hit two fours and two sixes in 28 runs off 20 balls. 11 extra runs including 10 wides also contributed to Rajasthan’s score.
Rajasthan’s innings can be analyzed in two parts. The first part where the ball was not hitting Buttler’s bat. Meanwhile, first Sanju Samson and then Dev Dutt Padikal scored runs at a fast pace and did not allow pressure to build. After that, when Buttler batted, the ball was seen going off the boundary line.
