General Nadeem Raza has said that Pakistan wants to increase military cooperation with South Africa.
According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), South African National Defense Force Chief General Rodzani Mafuanya visited the Joint Staff Headquarters during his visit to Pakistan where he chaired the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee. According to ISPR, during the meeting, the parties discussed various areas of interest while also discussing bilateral cooperation including security, counter-terrorism.
ISPR says that in the meeting, the dignitaries discussed in detail the measures to increase the level and scope of military engagements between the two countries, while the commitment of the two countries to further strengthen the relationship was also reiterated in the meeting.
ISPR also says that in the meeting, the Chief of the South African National Defense appreciated the professionalism of the Pakistani forces, while General Rudzani Mafuanya also acknowledged the sacrifices of the Pakistani forces against terrorism.
On this occasion, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee said that Pakistan is keen to increase military cooperation with South Africa.
Earlier, a guard of honor was presented to the distinguished guest on arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters.
