Second Test: India beat Sri Lanka by 238 runs, take series 0-2

Bengaluru, March 15 (SO News/Agency) The decision of the second Test match between India and Sri Lanka was decided on the third day and India once again won easily. India registered a 238-run win over Sri Lanka on the third day at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday. During the batting, Sri Lankan captain Damith Karunaratne scored 107 runs while completing his century, but no other batsman could do anything special. R Ashwin took four wickets for 55 runs in 19.3 overs in India’s bowling. When Sri Lanka started batting on the third day of the second Test, one wicket had already fallen. India took the remaining 9 wickets easily on Monday. Until the tea break, Sri Lanka scored 151 runs for the loss of four wickets in 39 overs, but after the break, the series of wickets started to fall, and the entire team was bundled out for 208 runs.

Karunaratne and Mendes batted well at the start of the third day. Meanwhile, Karunaratne was lucky as he escaped being dismissed by Ashwin. Mendes completed his 12th half-century off 57 balls. Ashwin broke Sri Lanka’s best partnership of 97 runs in the series and had Mendes caught by Pant.

He kept the pressure on the batsmen and kept getting wickets till the end. He took 4 wickets in the second innings. After that, Jasprit Bumrah was the most successful Indian bowler who took 5 wickets of Sri Lanka in the first innings and managed to take 3 wickets in the second innings. Akshar Patel got 2 wickets and Ravindra Jadeja got 1 wicket.
