Sharjeel Memon’s directive to speed up work on Red Line Project

Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has directed Trans Karachi to speed up the work on the Red Line project.

According to the details, a meeting of Trans Karachi Board of Directors was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Transport Minister and Chairman Trans Karachi Sharjeel Inam Memon.

In the meeting, the minutes of the 21st meeting of the board were approved, while the various committees of the board were also approved in the meeting.

In the meeting, the progress of infrastructure development of BRT Red Line project was also reviewed.

CEO Wasif Ajlal gave a detailed briefing on the progress of the Red Line project to the Board of Directors.

While giving a briefing, it was said that lot one construction zone from Miller Halt to Meteorology has been handed over to the contractor for the construction of infrastructure.

While giving the briefing, it was also said that 60% of the 3 km storm water drain from Tank Chowk to Check Post No. 6 has been completed, excavation for construction of underpass on Tipu Sultan Society has been completed.

While giving a briefing, it was said that the construction of the bus station at Check Post No. 6, Race Course and Tipu Sultan Society has started, the work has also started at the Malir Halt Bus Depot, while the alternative site for the construction of the Meteorological Depot has been started. While giving the briefing, it was further said that shifting of utility installation is the biggest hurdle, work on Lot 2 from Meteorology to Exhibition Chowrangi, laying foundation of NED University, Karachi University and Sheikh Zayed stations.

While presiding over the meeting, Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon directed Trans Karachi to speed up the work on the Red Line project and said that the problems of the contractors should be resolved so that the speed of work can be accelerated.

Sharjeel Inam Memon directed the Transport Secretary that a high-level meeting should be held next week regarding the transfer of utility with K Electric.
