Adelaide, November 10 (SO News/Agency) In the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup, England defeated India by 10 wickets and reached the final.
England won the toss and invited India to bat, on which Team India scored 168 runs with the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. India’s innings faltered at the start and both openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul got out without making any meaningful scores.
Virat Kohli then came in to bat and after Surya Kumar’s dismissal along with Hardik Pandya took over the team. Both scored half-centuries. Thus India’s score was 168 for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.
England’s counter innings was explosive and both openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales opened the batting with lightning speed and completed the target of 170 runs in just 16 overs without getting out.
Thus, in the second semi-final, India faced a humiliating defeat by 10 wickets at the hands of England.
The final match will be played between England and Pakistan on Sunday, November 13. The match will start at 1:30 PM IST at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
